About
Embark on a prehistoric expedition as we excavate the truth about velociraptor behavior using a custom animatronic dinosaur, and museum-quality fossils. We will evaluate imprinting, clicker training, and social hierarchy while separating science from Hollywood fiction. Students will learn to apply modern animal behaviorism principles to prehistoric predators and learn what life with a pet velociraptor would really be like. Learners will get an up-close look at raptor anatomy as we examine biofacts such as claws and even a skull! The class format will be a blend of engaging discussions, show-and-tell with fossils, demonstrations with a custom animatronic velociraptor named Calypso, and slide shares. Students are encouraged to ask questions and are invited to bring along any dinosaur themed toy/fossil that they may want to share with other students. Age Range: 7-11 Maximum Capacity: 12 students per section Class Schedule: July 28th @ 9AM
