About

Time travel back to the Cretaceous period in this paleontology-themed summer camp. This immersive program will give students an up-close look at genuine fossils including a Triceratops horn, a Tyrannosaurus Rex rib, Ankylosaurus scute, Spinosaurus teeth, Pterosaur imprints, and more as we study the anatomy, behavior, and adaptations of some of this era’s most fearsome predators. During our adventure, students will learn about the tools paleontologists use to excavate our prehistoric treasures and play scientists as we analyze the climate, geography, and even decipher the role botany played in the extinction of these beloved creatures! STEAM activities will be incorporated throughout the camp, along with engaging slide-shares, show-and-tell, and immersive discussions. Students will learn about specific dinosaur species that roamed Earth during the Cretaceous period and gain a better understanding of their diet, morphology, adaptations, and behavior. This camp will debunk a lot of myths perpetuated through popular dinosaur franchise films as we separate fact from fiction. Students will also be introduced to the concepts of paleobotany, paleogeography, and paleoclimatology. Age Range: 6-10 Maximum Capacity: 12 students per section (4-part series) Class Schedule: August 1st - August 5th @ 7PM
